Safety Scores
Our safety scores (0-100) are calculated using a weighted formula that considers both the volume and severity of crimes. Violent crimes and robberies are weighted more heavily than minor offences like shoplifting.
Limitations
Crime locations are anonymised to protect victims. The data represents reported crimes only — actual crime levels may vary. Scotland is not included as Scottish police data uses different systems.
