Understanding crime statistics across the UK
Our Mission
CrimeSafe UK provides easy-to-understand crime statistics for neighbourhoods across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. We help residents, homebuyers, and businesses make informed decisions about safety.
Data Source
All crime data comes directly from data.police.uk, the official UK Police open data portal. This data is updated monthly by all 44 police forces.

- 44 Police Forces
- 4,929 Neighbourhoods

- Vehicle Crime
- Theft

Safety Scores
Our safety scores (0-100) are calculated using per-capita crime rates, adjusted for population size. This allows fair comparison between busy city centres and quiet residential areas. Scores are percentile-based: a score of 80 means the area is safer than 80% of UK neighbourhoods.
Limitations
Crime locations are anonymised to protect victims. The data represents reported crimes only — actual crime levels may vary. Scotland is not included as Scottish police data uses different systems.
